Description
VSS 500N6 Voltage Surge Generator with Constant Pulse Energy up to 6.6 kV
EM TEST VSS 500N6 Voltage Surge Generator is designed as per IEC 60255-5 meeting the requirement to maintain constant pulse energy at different test levels as specified by the standard.
The VSS 500N6 generates high voltage transients with a source impedance of 500ohm for transient overvoltage tests on “Protection Relays”. The output voltage ranges up to 6.6kV, covering for tests levels 1 to 5.
The IEC 60255-5 standard requires a fixed energy of 0.5J at each test level which corresponds to the no-load waveshape per IEC 61180-1. The test generator itself follows the specifications as per IEC 61180-1 and covers the predefined voltage levels corresponding to the most used test voltages used for relay testing.
