AEMC 4620 4-Point Ground Resistance Tester

Description

The rugged 4620 measures from 0 to 2000 Ohms, is auto ranging so it automatically finds the best measurement range, and is easy to use which makes it ideal for maintenance crews performing numerous tests. It exceeds safety and mechanical specifications for drop tests, vibration, and shock as specified in the IEC standards. The 4620 is engineered to reject very high levels of interference, making it ideal for use under harsh conditions such as high stray currents that adversely affect accuracy.

Features

  • Measures soil resistivity with the 4-Point testing method
  • Measures ground resistance with the 2-Point, 3-Point, and Fall of Potential method
  • Step voltage tests
  • Touch potential measurements
  • Auto Ranging
  • Designed to reject high levels of noise interference
  • Very easy to operate just connect, press, and read
  • LED in faceplate alerts the user of fault connections, high auxiliary rod resistance, and high input noise
  • Battery powered
  • Rugged rainproof and dustproof field case
  • Continuity tests on bonding
  • Color coded terminals

 AEMC 4620 Applications

  • 3-point measurements of resistance to ground of grids and ground rods. 3-Point measurements are usually utilized when the grid or electrode can easily be disconnected, if there is suspected corrosion, or circumstances where ground faults are unlikely to occur.
  • Soil resistivity measurements or 4-Point tests. Finding areas of lowest soil resistivity is necessary to achieve a feasible grounding installation solution.
  • 4-point tests
  • Soil resistivity measurements.
  • Touch potential measurements (an alternative to 3-point tests in evaluating electrical safety). This test is preferred when the ground cannot be disconnected, where ground faults are very likely to occur, or when the “footprint” of grounded equipment is comparable to the size of the ground to be tested.
