Wavetek 3600D Cellular Test System
Description
The Wavetek 3600D is a cellular test system that allows users to complete a go/no go test on CDMA, TDMA, IS-136, AMPS and NAMPS mobile phones. This test will measure how well the system being tested functions within two set boundaries. The results are displayed as a complete summary analysis in both analog and digital performance measurements in order to improve repair or testing times.
Wavetek’s 3600D combines previous experience and future vision in proven features and expandable platform. All TIA formats are covered, including AMPS, NAMPS, TDMA (IS-54B and IS-136), and extensive test coverage of CDMA (IS-95A/98). All these digital formats are available at PCS frequencies using a self-contained frequency extension module (FEX). Japanese and Korean frequency band specifications are also covered.
Features
- The Wavetek 3600D has a number of features specifically designed to increase productivity to include remote control options, cable loss calibrator, soft keys, custom programming and one-button access to ESN, MIN and SCM data. All of these features allow the user to rapidly assess phones to determine if the phone meets the standards specified by the manufacturer for design and performance. Custom programs can be constructed to perform specialized tests of a set of standard tests.
Interfaces and Modes
- The Wavetek 3600D has three external interfaces that support Centronix and parallel printers, RS-232 controls and IEEE standard 488 GPIB. The Wavetek's standard modes include AMPS and NAMPS, but the model can be expanded with additional modules for TDMA IS-54B, TDMA IS-136 Basic, TDMA IS-136 Custom, CDMA IS-95, CDMA IS-95A, CDMA, J-STD-008 and J-CDMA Japan Cellular. These models will support VSELP, ACELP and QCELP voice codecs. The VSELP codec is standard with the TDMA module, but the ACELP and QCELP are optional accessories for the TDMA and CDMA modes.
